Ethos and Outcomes

We strongly believe that understanding the individual’s context is an important contributing factor when trying to gain an understand how they communicate and expresses themselves through their emotions and behaviours. Using evidenced based approaches, methods and techniques to engage with our young people to understand how their usual ways of communicating may be contributing to the difficulties that they are facing.

Our Services are intentional and ambitious aiming to support young people to unlearn negative, damaging and destructive behaviours in exchange for positive, empowering and rewarding behaviours through the implementation of clear boundaries underpinned by theoretical principles and best practice.

We appreciate that adapting new systemic skills of resilience will be a challenge after the leaving Optimum Youth Care home. To build confidence and consolidate learning, we can provide community based support tailored to the individual when the young person moves on to live independently.
