Welcome to Haven House! My hope is that if you are a child or young person who we will care for, that you feel that you have found your safe ‘Haven’, a place that you will eventually feel is your very own home.
I’m Sarah Walters, and I developed Haven House after many years of planning and preparation. In actual fact, I was thinking about you, and how with the right team of people, we would create this home, your home, a special place, completely dedicated to helping you to find happiness, your talents and confidence.
Although, I am now a Social Worker. Many years ago, I began to work within a Children’s Home in Birmingham. It was in this home that I saw an ‘Outstanding’ example of how to care for children and young people who had a difficult start in life. Once you’re settled, I hope that you will help us to continue to develop by giving us your suggestions of how we can improve.

Welcome to Haven House. I hope that you will feel reassured that your child is in safe hands. At Haven House, we aim to work in a ‘Systemic’ way. This means that we want to build relationships with people that are important to your child. With your help, we will learn more about your child and your family, which will help us to keep your child safe and help them grow in confidence.
At Haven House we support and promote time spent between children their family and friends, providing it is safe for us to do so. Every family is unique, therefore we hope that we will have the opportunity to learn about each other, making sure that your child is the central focus for all that we do.

Welcome to Haven House and thank you for choosing our Service. We aim to ‘Build Resilience’ and ‘Optimise potential’ for all our children. Our primary focus is to protect and support our children to realise their potential, as we work in a child focused and systemic way. I am Sarah Walters, the Responsible Individual, a qualified Social Worker, Practice Educator, Child Focused Systemic Practitioner and also qualified manager within Children’s Residential setting.
I understand the pressures of Local Authority work, and therefore emphasis strongly on ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children.’ At Haven House, we are dedicated to creating a safe, caring and welcoming environment, where are children feel loved, valued, with the secure base to confidently go out into the world to achieve their very best!

Our three bed residential children’s home is in Harrow, in a town setting. We provide 24-hour individualised care and support for children and young people aged between 10 to 17 years old of either gender, who have Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) as a result of early life trauma, complex or challenging behaviour, neglect, and family breakdown or disruption.
